Are you falling out of love with your current banking institution? Here are five sure signs that your relationship with your bank account is doomed to fail. Turn your money around and save money on banking.
Perhaps you have been in a relationship with the same bank account for many years, and you have become attached. However, have you ever thought that the familiarity of your bank has lulled you into a false sense of acceptance which stops you from realizing that the relationship is not healthy anymore?
If you feel like your bank just doesn’t love you like you thought it once did and you are feeling unhappy, there is no need to stay in an unfulfilling relationship. Breaking up with a current account is a lot easier than you might think, and by doing so you will free up your possibilities of falling in love with a bank that really cares about you.
Here are a few signs that indicate that the romance is going out of your current banking relationship:
1. Your Bank Account Doesn’t Take Any Interest In You
You want to be with someone who cares about you, and who takes an interest in what you have to say, and you want a bank account which pays good interest on the money that you are depositing. If you feel like your savings are getting ignored, perhaps it’s time to shift them into an account which will “pay” more attention to them!
2. Your Bank Doesn’t Know Who You Are
A bank that really cares about you will want to talk about your hopes, dreams and plans for the future. You should feel comfortable sharing your ideas for a small business loan, mortgage or savings goal with your bank, because they understand who you are and care about helping you accomplish the things you desire in life.
3. Your Bank is Using You For Your Money
Have you ever been in one of those relationships where you feel like your partner is only with you in order to gain access to a steady stream of cash? If your bank is charging you ridiculous banking fees, high interest on loans, and other charges, it’s time to think about whether the relationship is all give and no take and whether you might find a more balanced partnership somewhere else.
4. You are Getting Abused
No matter how long you have been with your current bank, there is no excuse for poor customer service, unfair fees, and other treatment that makes you feel like a worthless number. Spend your time with a bank that cares about you and makes you feel special instead.
5. It’s a Long Distance Relationship
Although you might love your bank, if you move far away to a place where there are no branches you might want to call it off. Staying in a long distance relationship with a bank doesn’t work out well, because you will never be able to go into the bank and talk face to face about your money and the fees from using other cash machines will add up quickly.
These are just a few signs that it might be time to break up with your bank account and look for a new bank that really loves you.

It can be GREAT to change your bank account! Here in the UK there are hundreds of different ones to choose from and the chances of you using the best of all by accident is highly unlikely. Therefore, do your research and don’t be scared of moving to a new bank. If more of us did it, it might force banks to improve their current accounts to all of us!
It shocks me when i hear stories of customers who have been with a bank for 20 years getting no benefit from that whatsoever as compared to a brand new customer, sometimes even being penalised. So don’t be afraid to change.
