Now alien make the best gamin computers period and this is their best yet. Whilst it’s only an 11 inch display the graphics card is incredible making it the most mobile gaming laptop in existence. 5. Dell inspiron i14 r
Our best budget entry the Dell is perfect for students and business as it is cheap but reliable. The 500GB hard drive capacity and 4GB of RAM make this fast and efficient and great value for money. The 2.13GHz Intel Pentium Core i3-330M processor isn’t as powerful as some of our previous entries but still good enough for most laptop uses.
6. Asus ul30A
If you want a fast and light computer you can stop your search now. The Asus starts up in less than 20 seconds and is only 1 inch thick. Coupled with this it manages a staggering 12.5 hours of battery life making it the best option for frequent travellers. Despite its size it still manages a13.3 inch display, 500GB hard drive capacity and 4GB of RAM making it incredibly powerful and versatile.

This is our favourite option for home offices as the keyboard is incredibly comfortable and easy to use, the touchpad is almost unrivalled in its ease of use and there are 3 USB ports for all your add-ons. Not the fastest with only 3 GB of RAM this is still ideal for most work uses.
9. Lenovo g50
The best a tight budget can buy the Lenovo has a fantastic 15.6 inch display, 3 GB of RAM and runs off a superb Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200 processor. Superb for media and comes with a variety of hard drive options from around 40GB. If money is a factor this is the best option for non-technical use.
10. Apple mac book air
Another sublimely thin entry this doesn’t compete with its more technical cousins but is still a fantastic laptop thanks to its great battery life and fantastic resolution. The 2048 MB of RAM is a little disappointing but the processing speed is excellent. One USB connection can be frustrating but this is generally a solid machine and you can get one second hand for a reasonable price.
